Pokemon Review Wednesday

Hello and welcome to a new video review!

It's July 26 of 2017 (already?) and though I look 'too sticky' to be on camera right now, I did it anyway. Because I love the feedback from you lovely people 😁

Today we'll look at 3 of my favorite Pokémon items. I used to have a super adorbs ~squishy~ Pikachu keychain too, but my obsession with his ears led to their accidental removal :/

Hahaha yes, I did sing a little in this. It could be the weather (or the Ativan I'm taking for work-related anxiety), but I felt really giddy at the time of filming. Or maybe it was just the rush of 'cuddle hormones' (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Thank you for reading with me today - who is your favorite Pokémon?

xoxo,

Probably my Last Pokemon Go Review...

Currently it is August 17 (2016) and this whole Pokémon Go thing is already waning in popularity, compared to this time last month. Yes, that fast.

I have tried in vain to play it on my Samsung Galaxy tablet, but it keeps freezing past the avatar point so I gave up on it. I must admit though, I do feel jealous of those who can play it freely on their phones (my husband owns a smartphone but I don't). So here is the Pikachu of my emotions:

In other news regarding the popular app by Niantic Labs Inc., I have heard now there are color teams:

Red for Team Valor, Yellow for Team Instinct, and Blue for Team Mystic (probably the one I'd choose if I could). So tell us in the comments below, which team you would choose.

Pokemon Go Reviews - Part 4

I haven't forgotten about the Pokémon Go app. I still have it on my tablet but the last 5 times I tried opening it, the dang thing stopped working right after I picked out the avatar features. Meh.

However, I haven't stopped being fascinated by the bizarre news stories. They are top in entertainment this summer ๏_๏

Here are 2 things that have recently piqued interest in this app:

1. celebrities on the Red Carpet at Teen Choice Awards have been caught switching out dating apps like Tinder, in order to play Pokémon Go! Catching a Pokémon seems more exciting than catching a sexy new playmate.

2. The makers of this game - Niantic Labs - have recently given a software upgrade to all players. Sounds good, right? Well the upgrade improved the gameplay, but it made everyone start over at level one. Has this happened to you?

Tell us in the comments below how Pokémon Go has affected your life. All you need to comment here, is a Google account (YouTube channel, gmail address, etc.)

Pokemon Go thoughts, Part 3

Okay so, again I've tried on my tablet to load the game app. I have to admit even before officially playing, it's addictive just trying to get it to work when I'm in a public place. I was at Starbucks yesterday with my husband Rob, so the photo credit goes to him for this.

I know it's kind of hard to read, but the board at Starbucks says to be careful playing Pokémon Go and to never play alone. It makes a valid point, and here are some news stories to remind you if you're playing, to play safe:

Of course, not every story about this addictive app is a bad thing. There was a ~baby duck rescue~ in Rochester ^_^

Pokemon Go opinions, part 2

Okay it's been a couple of days now since I first considered installing the Pokémon Go app, which was no easy feat on a 7" Samsung tablet (I don't own a smartphone because I'm kind of hipster).

Anyway, first I had to remove a few apps I don't use, as well as some photos that were taking up storage space. That whole process of downloading the app took over half an hour and I was feeling frustrated & impatient. I still wanted to proceed.

So now the app is there, and I have attempted to open it about half a dozen times - both at home and in public places, like standing downtown, and at the Bower Mall here in Red Deer. The game opens up and goes through the Professor Willow speech each time, and takes me to an avatar creator and once I try to press okay (when done picking her features), the app stops working. I reported it to the app-maker and not sure if it will open and let me officially go beyond that...?

I can already see why/how this can be an issue with walking around. I try my best to keep looking up at real reality, but it can still be hard not to walk right into fixtures. I will have to watch myself...

On a side note - when I was a kid (circa 1998-99) the Pokémon craze that first swept Canada, was paper trading cards. They didn't interfere with walking. though it did contribute to more bullying in schools so I remember teachers having to confiscate the cards until the end of the day.

And - have you seen this video yet, of the girl playing P.G. at a Beyoncé concert? She's ignoring Bey? Even sitting so close. Now that's addictive!

Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Thoughts on Pokemon Go app, part 1

Hi everyone! How are you?

So this Pokémon Go app is sweeping the nation! It seems half the cellphone wielding world is for the app, and the other half seems to think it's moronic. I wasn't really on either team at first, but the more I hear about it, the more I am intrigued. I've heard they can show up in some really odd and unexpected places, including a facebook post I saw of one on a friend's boobies while she was standing in a park. I almost peed myself laughing.

^_^     ^_^      ^_^     ^_^       ^_^      ^_^

It's important to note that safety is your #1 priority while playing this game. It sounds addicting for sure, but there have been numerous reports of players walking right into oncoming traffic, falling off a cliffside and even showing up in a place where muggers found them & harmed them. In addition to the obvious physical dangers, it's also important to note safety of personal accounts, passwords and your camera's privacy. I recently heard on the news that a young woman found one of them in her bedroom which was pretty freaky.

Anyway, knowing that there are risks associated with this app - and that it requires my full awareness of surroundings at all times, I am considering downloading it to gain an objective perspective... to see what all the fuss is about.

So let me know your thoughts on this app. Comment in the space below!

until next post, Daryl ^_^
